If you look in Coles or Woolworths in the golden syrup section there is one brand that is very vintagey looking that I've seen a UK blogger use as a planting tin. I recently took a photo of an empty one from my mother-in-law's pantry. I know it's not actually vintage but it is cute looking. Will let you know when I've posted the photo. :)

There was a story on the collectors last week aboutna guy who had an amazing collection of tomato tins. They looked fabulous :)
my mother-in-law's back garden is filled with these tins and her plant and veggie collection is thriving!!
