Floral whimsy

Beautiful table settings and arrangements from Green Wedding Shoes to cheer the day. As you know, I just can't go past vintage furnishings, fresh flowers and bottles...

What Saturdays are made of...

Nice relaxing breakfasts consisting of grapefruit, fresh bakery bread, coffee, orange juice, lots of jam (and some vegemite of course!). So lovely and well deserved after the busy week I've had - sorry I've been awol. Hope you all have a great weekend. Now I'm off to eat!

Al fresco dining

I'm missing eating outside (without the constant need for heaters) at the moment. Pretty inspiration with my favourite - coverless and restyled lampshades hanging above - from Style Me Pretty.

Hope you're having a good Sunday. I've just been watching an interview with the wonderful Miranda Kerr. I'm still in awe, how does she do it and how adorable is Flynn!? :-)

Sweet treats

This afternoon was all about basking in sunshine (although in scarf and wooly jumper), sipping tea and eating macaroons - lime kaffir and sugar palm. Yum! Today I'm missing my gorgeous cousin Laura's wedding in Surrey, England so am sending her lots of best wishes for this very special day. I know she will make a beautiful bride and I cannot wait to see the photos!

Right now I'm rugged up on the sofa watching Midsomer Murders (what happened to Downton Abbey?) and about to sink my spoon into a tub (full size of course) of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food - which is without a doubt my favourite. Hmm yes, the health kick resumes tomorrow...

Hope you're having just as sweet a Sunday!

Salad days

I bought this lovely vintage-style dress recently, it's made of silk and I just couldn't pass it up due to the pretty colours and design. It's just hanging on my wall at the moment because I can't take my eyes off it and I don't want it to get burried in my wardrobe never to be seen again. As it is it may have to wait until Spring for it's first outing, it's so cold right now!

The only thing is, even though I'm a small dress size, I may just have to have a few salads from now on to ensure I can comfortably wear it. Don't want to go stretching or ruining it! It's so easy at the moment to wolf down lots of cream infused meals so buying lovely clothes is really an investment in health. Oh dear, I'm starting to sound like Rebecca Bloomwood...

Vintage treasure trove

If I could, I'd take you all treasure hunting at the wonderful flea markets that are in and around Sydney but since that's not possible I thought I'd continue share some of my online finds...

Above are a few sweet treasures sourced from relatively new vintage online shop, Nostalgie Europe. I hope you like as much as I do!

Seeing blue

Of course these last few days it hasn't escaped my notice how beautiful the beach is at the moment. We're surrounded by blues and I hope it lasts.

Not just in nature but at home too. Loving my new vintage plates (little pink and white saucer, blue and white dinner plate and oval cream serving dish) which I found (little magpie that I am) on the weekend. The blue one is my favourite!

Sunshine

The sun has got his hat on hip, hip, hip, hip hooray!

Okay, we’re in the deepest darkest depths of winter but that doesn’t always mean grey skies and unrelenting rain. Well, not in Australia. We’re very lucky that for the third weekend in row now we’ve been able to enjoy non stop sunshine! Today it’s positively mild when you step outside.

Above are some pretty vintage cards I picked up from Newspaper Taxi (great shop, highly recommend a visit) that made my Sunday, along with a couple of finds which I’ll share with you later this week!

Hope you have a lovely week ahead and some treats planned to keep you going through the harder parts (my secret weapon ;-)). x

p.s. Happy 4th of July to those celebrating!

Flights of fancy

After a lot of down time Mr and I are thinking of escaping the city for a bit of peace and relaxation in the countryside. I'm dreaming of Twigs bed and breakfast in Trentham, Victoria. Doesn't it just look divine?

Wishing you all a glorious weekend!
