Mmmm...yes, I could quite happily live here. I'd need a cleaner of course because there is no way I'd be able to keep all this white, beautifully bright and smudge proof! lol.
One of the things I love most about the shabby chic look is that you don't, and shouldn't have to, spend a lot to achieve it. I'm naturally drawn towards French inspired boutiques that have sumptuous things on display but, more often than not, I find (on closer inspection) they're reproduced goods that are significantly overpriced for what they are.
I say go second hand (flea markets, charity shops, car boot sales) find a piece of furniture that has an appealing/attractive shape, sand it down, paint it white, then sand on top for that distressed look!
I have a little Victorian (style) side table I picked up for $20 on Gumtree waiting for such treatment! Now if only I had a window of time...

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and advice! I've been really into this all white theme and I love shabby chic. This is definitely inspiring to try to achieve this look without spending a lot (something that is a big plus for me right now!).
