Designer lampshades...

Fashion is not my area but when I saw a picture of a model dressed by UK fashion designer, Mary Katrantzou in the latest Grazia magazine at a friend's house I knew I just had to post about it. This is where fashion meets interiors!

I love this lampshade as a skirt idea - as beautiful art only though, I couldn't imagine trying to wear it!! Oh and this is one occasion where the no fabric on frame thing, which I like, is thankfully (you never know with designers) and appropriately not applied!

We have a long weekend this weekend and so far it has rained non stop!! Really hoping it picks up soon and we get our sun back!

Hope you're all enjoying yours!

Lampshade frames

I know we all covet beautiful lampshades with stunning fabrics, designs, detailing and accessories but don't empty fabric-less lampshades look great too? {Image 1}

I love this look and it's one (amongst others which I'll show you soon) that I've chanelled in my own home. What do you think?

I bought this shade complete with shabby chic rose fabric for a couple of dollars at a flea market a year ago but it had quite a yellow tinge and wasn't so much chic as, dare I say, granny-ish! I loved the shape but didn't know what to do with it except remove the fabric and paint the frame black.

Now it's a real statement piece on my shelves. A modern look using a classic frame. Perhaps when I have my own place and hanging lights, rather than flat up against the ceiling lights, I will hang it as part of a homemade chandelier. Now if only I could get my hands on some more!
