Trying my luck
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend? I had a really lovely one, packed to the rafters with laughter with friends, a lovely dinner out on Saturday, a trip to Cockatoo Island for the biennale art exhibition and a big Sunday dinner with my other half's godparents.
We also found time to make a quick trip to Ikea as we are in currently in serious need of a sofa up grade. I probably shouldn't admit this but the one we have is about fourth hand and was given to us from friends who no longer had a use for it about 2 years ago. Yup, we seriously need a new one!!
The one we had our eye on in the store just didn't give enough back support and the others looked really grandparenty-ish so we left empty handed. Before leaving we did spot, or I spotted, this beauty below which is a day bed. I have always wanted one of these and while it's not a sofa as such, I thought a mass of cushions and throws (which I already have) would look great on it.

I know I'm trying my luck and I don't think I stand a chance of getting it, especially because it only comes in powder blue, but what do you think? Day bed or not day bed? :-)

I love this day bed! I'm actually going to look into getting it for my son's room. As for a couch, it would look awesome, but I don't know if it would be the type of couch you could really lounge on. It would need a ton of pillows. Can you show us the final product if you decide on it??
ReplyDeleteI like the daybed very much but as a couch it might depend on the style of the room? You wouldn't want it sticking out like a sore thumb but it would be a great excuse to get a heap of new cushions!!
ReplyDeleteOoh I like the day bed that has endless possibilities! And powder blue works with everything doesn't it : )
ReplyDeletesounds like you had a lovely weekend.
I like the daybed. You know if you really want it you can make it work! :)
ReplyDeleteDaybed! I just love this. And I am so embarrassed to say I wasn't following you. How did I let this happen? I am now :)

I can totally picture pillows on this. Soo cute! I say yes to the daybed. I am in dire need of a sofa too. I just got rid of one that who knows how many times it had been handed down!
ReplyDeleteWell...it's blue / hinting turquoise-ish so I love it! I don't know if it will be very comfy? I guess it depends on the mattress... But it looks nice! I would say, go for it..
ReplyDeleteLove the daybed Anna, with heaps of cushions and pillows. Good luck.

I love the daybed - but just am not sure that it would be the best replacement for a sofa. Would it ever be as comfortable as a sofa, even with a heap of gorgeous cushions? Tough decision. xx
ReplyDeleteHands down...daybed!!! Its so adorable and I really love the colour:) Have a wonderful Monday, sweetie
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the daybed Anna! I love the powder blue colour too. I would love to see it covered in pillows if you do decide to do it. Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday ~ Tina x
ReplyDeleteI love the day bed.....and also the blue......happy summer days....love Ria......
ReplyDeleteI think not (against the trend) - they look good but are never comfortable in my experience, so a little French-style sofa on carved legs might be better?
ReplyDeleteDay bed! =) with amazing fluffy pillows and a pretty throw. =)
ReplyDeleteI like it! Add some gorgeous throw pillows in there and it will be perfect!

That daybed would look great with lots and lots of cushions on it, I totally agree!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a gorgeous weekend! I spent mine getting the house ready for another home open, painting my friends new (old) house, and trying to survive the flu... which now is tonsillitis! Ewww... can I have your weekend instead?? Please?
ReplyDeleteI love the daybed, maybe not as the main couch, but perfect for looking cute and for additional seating, smothered in all your gorgeous cushions of course!
:) Flick
Glad you had a great weekend! Enjoy the week!

What great idea, a daybed. Would look lovely in every garden!! The shade of blue is awesome. Sending some Summer sprinkles your way Anna for a great week! xx and more xx
ReplyDeleteOh, it's gorgeous! I love it! Would I use it in place of a sofa? Probably not, I don't know, but I LOVE it, and I also love the powder blue! We are in a similar sofa situation, ours is beige leather, left over from my husband's bachelor days in South Florida - yikes!!!! XO!
ReplyDeleteDaybed, daybed, daybed!!!!!!! Lovely, sweet and cozy!!! Kisses. Bela.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a daybed stuffed with pillows and a throw or two! Unexpected, inviting and comfortable!
ReplyDeleteDaybed! Pile on those cushions and a favorite throw. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a really lovely weekend. I think that would be great as a day-bed as long as you threw on heaps of comfy pillows for back support. I think the colour will be beautiful! x
